Keynote Speaker: Benjamin Habbel

Founder of Voyat and Vice President of Global Business Development at Intent Media

Benjamin is the Founder of Voyat and Vice President of Global Business Development at Intent Media. Voyat is the leading direct booking platform for hospitality. He has overseen the growth of Voyat from inception, institutional venture rounds, international growth to acquisition by Intent Media in 2016. He continues to oversee it’s global operations, customer success, marketing and business development. Prior to founding Voyat in 2012, Benjamin served as the Chief of Staff to Marissa Mayer at Google Inc. He also led strategic product marketing initiatives for Google Search and Android, bringing products to market on a global scale such as Google Instant, Android Developer SDK and Google Places. Benjamin has been listed on the the 35 under 35 List at the Phocuswright Travel Innovation Summit. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School and participated in the Wharton Executive Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Nathan Zielke

Co Founder and MD of Dream Cheaper

Nathan is Co-Founder and MD of DreamCheaper.com, an innovative company securing hotel guests the best rates by rebooking existing (!) hotel bookings. He has a long track record in startup businesses including eCommerce, ePayment and online gaming. After his studies he served on international management positions within the Lufthansa Group before joining a large strategy consulting firm. During the last 7 years he was member of the board at the Swiss and then the Austrian Federal Railways where he restructured their cargo business and helped them making first steps into the digital world.

Robert Holland

Regional Operations Manager of Bespoke Hotels

Robert Holland spent the first few years of his career gaining practical experience working in some of Europe’s finest hotels including the Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg and The Four Seasons London Park Lane whilst attending Cornell’s Professional Development Program each summer, focusing on the more theoretical elements of Hotel keeping. With a passion for F&B Robert soon moved into stand-alone restaurants and following a number of years running restaurants and consulting to others, bought and ran a small chain of Persian Restaurants in SW London. He has been managing the Bermondsey Square Hotel since January 2010 and as Regional Operations Manager for Bespoke Hotels, its sister hotel La Suite West in Bayswater since June 2014.

Michael Ros

Co-founder & CEO of Bidroom.com

Michael Ros is a natural-born entrepreneur. Michael started his first company at the age of 18. From the age of 24, he worked for 4 years for a large international enterprise and was responsible for a turnover of 45 million euros per year. Thereafter he founded the online travel agency Travelservice. Michael is a creative sales person with experience in negotiating at a corporate business level. Currently, he oversees Bidroom's marketing, PR and sales.

Jason Grist

UK Area Manager, Booking.com

Jason is a key member of Booking.com’s UK and Ireland management team. He is responsible for the key market of London, managing multiple partner facing teams, as well as working closely with national government, business and tourism bodies to promote Booking.com’s growth in the UK.

With 17 years’ experience in the tourism industry, Jason was appointed as Booking.com’s UK Area Manager in August 2011.

He came to this role after more than two years as Booking.com’s Global Commercial Manager based in the Amsterdam headquarters, where he was responsible for managing relationships with key external stakeholders in the world’s biggest hotel brands.

Before joining Booking.com, Jason spent over five years at Hotel Connect as a member of the management team and Head of Contracting, responsible for contracting accommodation globally. His career has also seen him in commercial roles at TUI, where he started in 1998.

Jason studied Modern Languages and European Studies at the University of Wolverhampton and he is fluent in three languages.

Michael McCartan

Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Duetto

Michael McCartan has been Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Duetto since December, 2014 where he spearheads the rollout of Duetto's services and development of customer success teams throughout the region. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of eRevMax from March 2012 and as their Chief Operating Officer from December, 2010 to March 2012. He joined the eRevMax team to oversee the daily operations of the Rate Tiger and Connect brands. He served as Vice President of Product Management at Pegasus Solutions. A specialist in software product management, business development, technical pre/post-sales and overall project management, he has over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry. He is a frequent speaker and panellist at major travel industry events across EMEA. Mr McCartan has an engineering degree from the University of Cape Town and a business degree from the Open University. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.

Andrea Baptiste

CEO of Benbria

For almost eight years, Andrea Baptiste has served as CEO of Benbria. Prior to her current role, she co-founded and served as CEO of Atreus Systems, a company that creates provisioning software for fixed line and wireless service providers. Andrea has a rich background in engineering, and she has applied that expertise to the communications industry for more than 20 years.

Clinton Campbell

Director of Revenue Management at Apex Hotels

Born and raised in South Africa, Clinton attended the International Hotel School, Durban, graduating in 2000 with a diploma cum laude. Clinton relocated to the UK in 2002 and worked in front office operational roles until 2008 when he started his career in revenue management and is currently the Revenue Director at Apex Hotels. In 2015 he completed his Master’s Degree at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in Hospitality and Tourism Leadership and specialises in the commercial functions of Revenue, Marketing and Sales.

Sarah Lim

Industry Manager, Google

Sarah Lim is an industry manager with the hospitality team at Google UK. She is currently working with UK based hotels, accommodations, and tourist boards, where she helps them navigate the digital landscape, growing their online presence to ensure digital advertising is a key revenue driver for their business. Prior to Google, Sarah worked in the travel industry for companies such as Expedia, Hotels.com and TripAdvisor, holding a variety of roles in online marketing, traffic acquisition and product management.

 

David Greig

Group Revenue Manager, The Morgan, Beacon & Spencer Hotel

David has twenty years experience in a wide range of operations and revenue management roles in branded, franchised and independent hotels. Over the last number of years, David has focused on leading and developing revenue management and business development strategies in independently owned luxury hotels. David's recent revenue management roles have involved improving the use of business intelligence technology and collaboration to deliver sustainable business growth.

Max Shepherd Cross

CEO and Co Founder, HotelFlex

Max is the CEO and Co Founder of HotelFlex an innovative inventory management tool for hotels. Prior to setting up his own business Max worked in the world of finance, investing in hotels at CBRE and Prudential Financial Inc covering all European markets. In his previous role, Max travelled extensively for work and became frustrated at having to spend hours in hotel lobbies and cafes waiting for his room to be ready after arriving on early morning flights. He quit his job and set up HotelFlex to solve that very problem.

Casey Davy

VP, Busy Rooms CRS

Casey Davy is a VP at Busy Rooms CRS, an innovative travel software company which offers distribution, marketing, and revenue management solutions helping clients such as Thomas Cook Hotels, Manor House Hotels & Resorts and Bahamas.com sell more rooms. Prior to this as part of his consulting practise he drove sales and growth in EMEA as Vice President of Sales for eRevMax Inc. (RateTiger).

Mark Forrester

Chairman and Founder of 80 Days

Mark Forrester is the Chairman and founder of 80 Days, a Digital Marketing agency specialising in the luxury travel sector. Mark founded 80 Days (formerly Occupancy Marketing) in 2001 and the company now provides Internet Marketing and Website Development services for over 400 four and five star independent hotels in the UK, Europe and Middle East. Over the last 15 years Mark has been analysing the results from digital marketing campaigns to determine trends which support success online.

 

Rupert Gutteridge

Sales & Marketing Director

Rupert manages the Marketing and Sales team in the UK and is also responsible for the continued international development of the Guestline business across the Asia-Pacific region.

Rupert has over 20 years of experience in the industry; he previously worked as Regional Sales Director at IDeaS and also Sales Director - Central Systems, EMEA, for MICROS Fidelio. Prior to this he was with AremisSoft Corporation in both the UK and United States.

Rupert also has hotel experience as a GM for Mazard Hotel Management - a hotel management company working on behalf of the Royal Bank of Scotland where he gained insight and knowledge into the management of small country house hotels that had fallen into receivership.
